Neftalí Sillero is the Chairman of Mapping Committee of the Societas Herpetologica Europaea since 2006, leading the NA2RE project, the New Atlas of Amphibians and Reptiles in Europe. Previously, he participated in the herpetological atlases of Spain and Portugal. His research work is related with biogeography and spatial ecology, from continental to local scale. His main tools are Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Ecological Niche Modelling, and Spatial Statistics, using amphibians and reptiles as species models. He has developed his work in diversity patterns, identification of biogeographical regions, species niche descriptions and conservation, morphological spatial patterns, lizards' home ranges, and spatial patterns of road-kills. He is also founder member of ENPARTS, the European Network for the Protection of Amphibians and Reptiles from Transport Systems.
