Has a degree in Biology (2004), masters in Toxicology (2007) and Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Aveiro (2011). Throughout his academic career he developed work in the field of ecotoxicology, mainly working with amphibians. The course of his work resulted in 14 papers published in international journals and 21 presentations at international congresses, 4 of which are oral presentations and 17 posters presentations. He also developed work in environmental education and as a result published a book chapter in an international publisher. Currently he is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Aveiro, working in amphibian ecotoxicology. His current research interests are mainly related with understanding the mechanisms of toxicity of various compounds on the immune system of amphibians.
